Land O' Lakes, Lutz face once-a-week watering limits as Tampa Bay drought deepens

The Tampa Bay region remains 14.5 inches below normal rainfall nearly a year into a drought, and residents in Land O' Lakes, Lutz and Odessa face one-day-per-week watering restrictions through Oct. 1 under the most severe water shortage order issued by the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Hillsborough advances short-term rental registry that would cover Lutz and Odessa

Hillsborough County commissioners voted 7-0 on Aug. 6 to advance a short-term rental registration ordinance toward a Sept. 2 public hearing, requiring owners in unincorporated areas including Lutz and Odessa to pay $200 annually, designate a 24/7 local contact and allow inspections.
