Sunlake High School's Key Club will host a free Halloween celebration for families on Saturday, Oct. 24, with trick-or-treating, games and food trucks on the school's track.
The event, called Trick or Treat Around the Track, runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school, 3023 Sunlake Blvd. in Land O' Lakes. Admission is free.
Costumes, games and food trucks on the track
Children and families can trick-or-treat around the track in costume, play games, compete for prizes and giveaways, and grab food from on-site trucks. The Key Club, a Kiwanis-affiliated service program for high school students, will also collect donations for UNICEF as part of the national Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign.
Donations support a UNICEF early childhood project
That campaign, which began in 1950, has raised nearly $200 million for children worldwide, according to UNICEF USA. This year's fundraiser supports Start Strong: Zambia, a project providing early childhood developmental services, according to Key Club International.
A returning Sunlake Halloween tradition
The event has run at Sunlake since at least 2022, when the school promoted it on social media. This year's listing on the school website describes it as returning. The school encouraged families to wear costumes and described the event as a safe, family-friendly Halloween celebration.
