The Dade City haunted attraction park about 20 minutes from Land O' Lakes via I-75 is pouring $2.5 million into a complete midway renovation before its 2026 season opens Saturday, Aug. 29.
SCREAM-A-Geddon, located at 27839 Saint Joe Road off I-75 at exit 285, announced the investment Monday, July 20. The rebuilt midway will relaunch as "Bonzo's Bizarre," a clown-themed zone featuring carnival games, food, drinks and, in the park's words, "clown-fueled chaos."
The overhaul replaces what was previously known as the Monster Midway, which in past seasons offered ax throwing, a gift shop and Bonzo's Beer Garden.
"We've been scaring Tampa Bay for more than a decade," Jon Pianki, SCREAM-A-Geddon's chief marketing officer, told WFLA. Pianki said the broader park upgrades aim to make the 2026 run the attraction's most guest-friendly season.
Park has drawn crowds to Dade City since 2015
The park first opened on Saint Joe Road in 2015 and has grown into one of the Tampa Bay region's largest seasonal Halloween attractions. During the 2025 season, more than 150 costumed performers roamed the grounds, according to Bay News 9. The site also houses the Snowcat Ridge and TreeHoppers facilities year-round.
Five haunted houses return, two limited to adults
Five fan-favorite haunted houses are back for 2026: Killgore's 3D Circus, Bloodwater Bayou, Breach, Ravenhill Asylum and Demon's Revenge. Two of those, Ravenhill Asylum and Breach, are interactive experiences where performers can touch and separate guests from their group. Those houses are limited to visitors 18 and older.
The park is not recommended for children under 13, according to prior season guidelines.
Season runs through Nov. 1 on select dates
The 2026 season runs Saturday, Aug. 29, through Sunday, Nov. 1, on select dates. Gates open nightly at 7 p.m. A full schedule of operating dates has not been released; visitors can check screamageddon.com for updates.
Presale offers 25% off ahead of renovation debut
To drive early ticket sales ahead of the renovation debut, the park is offering 25% off general admission during a limited-time presale period. No 2026 ticket prices have been announced publicly.
The $2.5 million renovation is the largest publicly announced capital project at the Dade City site in the park's history. Season and ticket information is available at screamageddon.com.
