Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley is mailing more than 47,000 vote-by-mail ballots Thursday to voters with requests on file for the Nov. 3 general election.

The Land O' Lakes elections office at 4111 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Room 105, is one of three locations where voters can pick up or drop off ballots in person. The other two are at 8731 Citizens Drive in New Port Richey and 14236 Sixth St., Suite 200, in Dade City.

Ballots for uniformed and overseas citizens went out Sept. 18, according to the supervisor's office.

How to request a mail ballot

Voters who have not yet requested a mail ballot have until 5 p.m. Oct. 22 to do so. Requests can be made by calling the elections office at 352-521-4323, using the online form at PascoVotes.gov or submitting a written request on the state's vote-by-mail request form. Written or phone requests must come from the voter, an immediate family member or a legal guardian.

Written requests must include the voter's Florida driver's license number, Florida ID number or last four digits of their Social Security number, along with date of birth, Pasco County residence address and signature.

Returning ballots and picking them up in person

Completed ballots must reach the elections office by 7 p.m. Nov. 3, Election Day. Voters can return them by mail, hand-deliver them to any of the three offices or drop them at early voting sites. Ballots cannot be turned in at polling places on Election Day.

In-person ballot pickups at the three offices are available starting Thursday and end once the mandatory early voting period begins Oct. 24. Anyone picking up a ballot for someone else needs a written designation from that voter, photo ID and a completed affidavit.

One detail for voters away from home: Mail ballots cannot be forwarded by the U.S. Postal Service. Voters temporarily outside Pasco County can have a ballot sent to a different mailing address if they specify it when they order.

Free bus rides to the polls on Election Day

In August, Corley praised a separate partnership with GoPasco, the county's public transit system, that offers free bus rides to the polls on Election Day. "This partnership benefits the voters of Pasco County and epitomizes good government," Corley said Aug. 14 when the program was announced.

The free rides run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 3 for anyone with a valid voter information card. Free rides are not available during early voting.

The elections office phone number is 352-521-4323, and full details on early voting sites are listed at PascoVotes.gov.
