Old Navy is preparing to move into the former Saks OFF 5TH anchor space at Tampa Premium Outlets in Lutz, as first reported by NewsBreak.
No opening date or building permit for the Old Navy location has been announced.
The anchor swap follows Saks Global's decision to shutter nearly all of its Saks Off Fifth discount stores nationwide. Business Insider reported in April that the Tampa location in Lutz appeared on the closure list.
Saks Global filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January 2026 after a year of missed payments, Business Insider reported. Geoffroy van Raemdonck, Saks Global's CEO, said in a statement that the company's remaining stores "will comprise the best performing and most desirable locations in markets with the highest concentration of luxury customers."
Saks OFF 5TH had anchored the open-air center since Tampa Premium Outlets opened beside Interstate 75 in October 2015, according to the NewsBreak report.
The Old Navy plan is one piece of a broader tenant refresh at the Simon Property Group outlet center, which sits at I-75 and State Road 56 and serves the Land O' Lakes, Wesley Chapel and wider Pasco County market. The Cheesecake Factory opened at the outlet center on Nov. 11, 2025, drawing large crowds, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Disney Character Warehouse on the way
A Disney Character Warehouse is also headed to the outlet center. Tampa Premium Outlets confirmed the addition on its Facebook page, posting that the store is "coming to Tampa Premium Outlets."
Disney Fanatic reported in August that Disney confirmed the location through two Walt Disney World Resort job listings. One posting, for a merchandise inventory specialist, named the workplace as "Disney Character Warehouse, Tampa Premium Outlets in Tampa, FL." A second listing, for a Merchandise Heart of House lead Cast Member, named the same location.
Disney has not published an opening date, suite number or operating schedule for the store. The Disney Character Warehouse format already operates at Orlando outlet centers, selling discounted resort and Disney merchandise. A Tampa Bay location would give west-central Florida shoppers access without driving to Orlando.
Old Navy has not announced a timeline for its Lutz store, and the Disney Character Warehouse remains confirmed but unscheduled.
