David Weekley Homes has purchased 152 homesites in Verona, a planned 2,500-home community along State Road 52 in Land O' Lakes, marking the Houston-based builder's first deal with developer Eisenhower Property Group.

The acquisition, which closed in early July, is part of a larger wave: five national builders purchased a combined 667 homesites at Verona, according to a July 7 Tampa Bay Business & Wealth report. Homes by WestBay took the largest share with 174 lots, followed by David Weekley at 152, Mattamy Homes at 145, Pulte Homes at 102 and Highland Homes at 94.

Kristina Lloyd, David Weekley Homes' Tampa division president, said the builder plans to offer single-family homes on three lot sizes: 40-foot, 50-foot and 60-foot widths. Lloyd said home sales are expected to begin in late 2027.

Jeffery Hills, president and CEO of Eisenhower Property Group, said in a July 7 statement that the closings "represent an important step in bringing the vision for Verona to life" and allow the company to begin delivering the community as planned.

What Verona looks like at buildout

Eisenhower Property Group, a Tampa-based firm founded in 2004 by Hills, is developing Verona on roughly 1,500 acres west of Interstate 75. The project is carved from a larger 3,500-acre property. About 2,000 acres will remain open space, farmland or recreational areas under a restrictive covenant with Pasco County.

Planned amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, resort-style pool, pickleball courts, playgrounds, a dog park, picnic areas and trails.

A growing SR-52 footprint

Verona is Eisenhower's second master-planned community along the SR-52 corridor. Its first, Hillcrest, is located east of Verona near Bellamy Brothers Road, where Lennar, Perry Homes, Taylor Morrison and Dream Finders Homes have already begun selling homes.

David Weekley Homes operates in 19 markets nationwide and has closed more than 130,000 homes since its 1976 founding.

More builders and pricing details still to come

Hills said Eisenhower expects to announce additional builders at Verona later in 2026. No home pricing, HOA dues or CDD assessment information has been released. Those details are expected closer to the late 2027 sales launch.
