Two Land O' Lakes-area professionals will introduce local businesswomen to the Pasco County Commission on the Status of Women at the Greater Pasco Chamber of Commerce's next Professional Women in Business lunch on Wednesday, August 19, at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital.

The guest speakers are Lauren Miceli, assistant vice president of marketing and communications at Pasco EDC in Lutz, and Jennie Yingling, community outreach director at Spinner Law Firm in Land O' Lakes.

What is the Commission on the Status of Women?

The Pasco Board of County Commissioners established the Commission on the Status of Women on September 13, 2016, according to the county's advisory boards page. The 15-member body advises county commissioners, the county administrator, and the community on matters affecting women in Pasco County.

Members serve three-year terms and meet the first Monday of every month at 2 p.m. The commission also maintains a Women-Owned Business Directory for the county.

The commission's mission, according to the county, is to elevate the status of women through community collaboration.

Residents interested in joining the CSW can apply by submitting an advisory board application and a letter of recommendation to County Administration at [email protected].

Who's speaking

Miceli leads marketing and communications for Pasco EDC, the county's economic development arm based in Lutz. She holds a bachelor's degree in mass communications with a concentration in public relations and an event planning certificate from the University of South Florida.
