Rep. Gus Bilirakis will host his 20th Annual Veterans Resource Fair at Sunlake High School in Land O' Lakes on Saturday, Sept. 26. The free event offers veterans and their families access to claims assistance, healthcare information, job placement and housing help.
The fair runs from 10 a.m. to noon at 3023 Sunlake Blvd. U.S. Sens. Rick Scott and Ashley Moody are co-hosting this year's event, according to a press release from Bilirakis's office.
Scott, a Navy veteran and the son of a World War II veteran, said he encouraged veterans and their families in the district to attend and learn about available benefits. Moody said she would continue working to ensure the state's veterans receive the support they have earned.
Bilirakis, a Republican who represents Florida's 12th Congressional District including Pasco County, has hosted the fair for two decades.
"Too often, Veterans simply don't know about all of the resources available to them or where to turn for help," Bilirakis said in the release. "That's exactly why we bring these organizations together under one roof."
Attendees can speak directly with participating organizations, ask questions and get help identifying programs that fit their needs. The specific agencies attending have not been announced.
No admission fee is required, but veterans are encouraged to RSVP by calling (727) 232-2921 or emailing [email protected].
