The former Beef O'Brady's on Wesley Chapel Boulevard has a new tenant, and it comes with $6.99 burger nights and Irish stew in a sourdough bread bowl.

1916 Irish Pub opened at 27315 Wesley Chapel Blvd. (State Road 54), at Old Pasco Road, in the Towne Centre at Wesley Chapel plaza. The restaurant is the fourth location for owner Chuck Jamieson and business partner Duke Mendel, who also run 1916 Irish Pub spots in Brandon, Plant City and Lakeland, according to the pub's official website.

"We want to be your neighborhood hangout," Jamieson told Neighborhood News in a story published Friday, July 18.

Jamieson, who also owns Second Plate Catering, said his goal was to build an Irish pub with an upgraded menu. The Wesley Chapel location offers a full liquor bar with multiple beers on tap, daily food specials and plans for live music.

What's on the menu

Highlights include haddock fish and chips, the Rebel's Reuben (corned beef, sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese and house-made Thousand Island dressing), and Irish stew served in a garlicky sourdough bread bowl with braised beef slow-cooked in red wine, Guinness and house demi-glace. The menu also features bruschetta with melted mozzarella, an Irish Lamb Jam gyro sandwich and a meat lover's flatbread.

Specials and hours

Daily deals include $6.99 burgers on Mondays, trivia and $6.99 wings on Wednesdays, and $3 mimosas for Saturday and Sunday brunch, according to Neighborhood News.

The pub is open seven days a week until 1 a.m., with the bar staying open until 2 a.m., according to the pub's Instagram page.

Filling a vacancy

Beef O'Brady's Wesley Chapel, which had been operated by Gary and Michelle Bailey, closed before 1916 Irish Pub purchased the business and space. In an Instagram post, the Beef O'Brady's Wesley Chapel account wished the new owners "nothing but success" and said many familiar faces would continue making memories at the location.

What's next

A grand opening celebration is planned for July 24 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Wesley Chapel Boulevard location, according to Neighborhood News. Jamieson said live music and additional entertainment are in the works.
