A new Pasco County program pairs small-business owners with a county staffer to guide them through permitting and development approvals.
The county's Office of Economic Growth announced the Work Local Small Business Support Program on Aug. 12, with the Small Business Concierge Service as its first offering. The service is open to locally owned businesses with up to 25 employees.
For business owners in Land O' Lakes, Lutz and surrounding unincorporated Pasco County, the concierge handles a common pain point: figuring out which permits, reviews and approvals a project requires before construction or renovation can begin.
What the service does
According to the county's program page, the concierge provides individualized, one-on-one support to help owners navigate the county's development and permitting processes. The program targets businesses looking to open a new location or expand an existing one.
The county stated the program helps locally owned small businesses "get started or expand with confidence." It is the first component of the broader Work Local initiative, and the county indicated additional services will follow under the same umbrella.
Pasco County promoted the program again on X on Tuesday, Aug. 25, directing business owners to the full program details online.
How to sign up
Business owners can set up an initial meeting through the program's website at mypas.co/worklocalprogram. They can also call Pasco County customer service at 727-847-2411 or send a direct message to @pascocountygov on Instagram.
The county has not published information about whether the service carries a fee, whether a formal application is required, or whether it covers businesses in incorporated municipalities within Pasco County. No informational sessions or application deadlines have been announced.
