Sunlake High School senior linebacker Blake Daniels set a school record for tackles in a single football game, according to an announcement from the Seahawks' recruiting program Monday, Oct. 5.

The program announced the achievement on X, praising Daniels' defensive performance.

MaxPreps statistics credit Daniels with 21 tackles during Sunlake's 14-10 road victory over Weeki Wachee on Friday, Oct. 2.

The performance highlighted a strong season for the 6-foot senior, who plays outside linebacker and fullback while also handling kickoff duties for the Land O' Lakes school.

Daniels leads Sunlake defense while contributing on offense

Daniels has been one of the Seahawks' most versatile players this season, contributing on defense, offense and special teams.

Through five games, he led Sunlake with 44 tackles and one sack, according to an Oct. 5 Tampa Bay Beacons district preview.

The publication ranked Daniels seventh among its top players in Class 5A, District 7, at the midpoint of the season.

In addition to his defensive responsibilities, Daniels serves as a fullback, blocking for Sunlake's rushing attack. He also handles kickoffs and had recorded two touchbacks through the period covered by the Beacons report.

Daniels' recruiting profile lists a 4.65-second 40-yard dash, a 405-pound bench press and a 3.3 GPA. Those figures are self-reported and have not been independently verified.

The Seahawks' recruiting account also highlighted Daniels' performances at summer camps, where he competed against other high school football prospects.
