Pasco County residents can grab gloves and a free T-shirt on Sept. 19 by signing up for the annual Keep Pasco Beautiful countywide cleanup, set for 8 to 11 a.m. that Saturday at locations across the county.

Volunteers from Land O' Lakes, Lutz and Odessa can select their nearest cleanup site when they register.

How and When to Register

Registration opened Aug. 18 and closes Sept. 9. After signing up, volunteers receive meeting details and a group captain's contact information before the event.

The Pasco County Public Information Office announced the registration opening Tuesday, Aug. 18, calling on neighbors to help clean public lands, roads and waterways. The cleanup is a partnership between Keep Pasco Beautiful, Pasco County and Seaworthy Collective, which is presenting the 2026 event.

Registered volunteers will receive disposable gloves, trash bags and a Keep Pasco Beautiful T-shirt while supplies last. Organizers recommend bringing your own trash picker, as pickers may not be available on-site this year.

The event listing recommends closed-toe shoes, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray and water in a reusable bottle. Not all sites will have water available.

Family-Friendly Sites Designated for Younger Volunteers

Families with children under 10 are directed to register for one of three designated sites: Sims Park Boat Ramp in New Port Richey, Anclote Gulf Park in Holiday or River Road Trailhead in Dade City. At the Anclote Gulf Park location, UF IFAS Extension Pasco County's Sea Grant agent Megan Moore will lead a coastal cleanup focused on removing litter before it reaches waterways.

Local Event Ties Into Global Cleanup Effort

The cleanup is part of the International Coastal Cleanup coordinated by Ocean Conservancy. Since 1986, that worldwide effort has collected more than 380 million pounds of trash with help from more than 18 million volunteers.
